I'm a Professor of Computational Predictive Medicine at the University of Helsinki, recently appointed as part of Ellis Institute Finland, a new national research initiative into the fundamentals of applied AI. Prior to that, I was Chief Scientific Officer of Nightingale Health, where we brought a validated multiomic disease risk prediction tool into nationwide clinical use in Finland. I was a group leader at the Wellcome Sanger Institute for 10 years, where my lab researched genetics of complex diseases.
